Signal to Noise is an interstellar epistolary game that chronicles the relationship between two individuals as one of them departs the solar system forever on a generation ship. As the distance between them increases and errors creep into their messages they must come to terms with the knowledge that they will never see each other again and eventually answer the question of how long they can maintain the connection they once had.
Players take turns to draw prompts and compose a message for their counterpart. Each card provides a personal prompt (the value) and progresses a unique major societal event (the suit). Before sending their message players must introduce noise through letter replacements driven on the cards they have drawn. As the distance increases so too does the noise, until messages are finally rendered unreadable.
